First I'll say that I love this challenge. It definitely is a learning experience though. First, I made the cardinal mistake of putting the toilet and the shower in the same room, and not only that, but I put them in such a horrible layout in the bathroom that they would get stuck in the room when 4 or 5 other sims poured into the room.

Then, set up the kitchen in a way where, on the third fire the idiot inmates started, they blocked my way from getting into the kitchen to put out the fire, and I think 4 sims died. The remaining 3 died from ghost scare, or starvation, or something.

I went a few days and then got bored, and since I pretty much failed anyways, I decided to make my own rules and decided that, after the inmates died, I would restock the hospital with new inmates..... And that was a terrible idea. By the time my guy finished his LTW of being a professional party guest, I had about 45 tombstones on the lot. And he only almost died once when three ghosts scared me in a row.

Just stumpled upon your challenge.
I think I'm gonna try it on Sims3. It should be easier than Sims2, since Free Will have been improved a lot :)
When I'm done, I'll tell how well I did.

Lasted 1 sim week. 6 died of fire, 1 died of starvation and I died of fright. (A ghost popped out of the shower/tub when she was in a bad mood.) Loved the challenge. It was fun watching them burn. Nearly fell in love with the surviving roommate. She made something and ended up burning the kitchen down after I went to work.

This was my first challenge and I thought it was great. I'm still taking part (on day 7) and all my sims are still alive which is a good sign. I rolled Knowledge and my sim's LTW is to reach the top of Medical which is alright i guess.
Haa my hardest times have been when six patients are waiting outside the toilet at the same and when the fridge ran out and i didn't notice (at work or something) so I had to call the pizza and grocery deliveries straight away.
Thanks

I tried the Asylum challenge. I got very frustrated when one day (about two game weeks in) just as I was driving off in my carpool, there was a fire that killed three of my Sims. Since that event I gave up on the strict rules of the challenge and have been tweaking my asylum a bit.

I don't see how one is supposed to handle fires and keep one's hands off the seven patients. They don't call the fire department on their own. At least if my controlled Sim had been at home asleep, I could have awakened him and called the Fire Department.

The next time I try it, I think I will bend the rules a little and see if I like that better. What I plan to do is to have the stove in a room that I can lock when I go to work and unlock when I get home.

For the current Asylum, my controlled Sim still hasn't made his LTW. Since there was space in the asylum, he had his girlfriend move in. It seemed appropriate because she is such a slob that she eats out of garbage cans. I looked my surviving Sims over and because one was a Family Sim and I had gotten frustrated with the rules, I had a fellow patient impregnate her.

I believe that my Legacy has reached a point in which it might be lost forever, so I'm thinkin' about trying this. It seems, uh, interesting? Whee! :)

Hi, great challenge! My first ever, it looked short enought that I wasn't daunted :D I was lucky to roll a knowledge sim who only wanted top Science career, and further lucky that the first fire left a burnt meal on the stove that for some reason no sim ever removed. I did try to distract them by serving them decent food, but alas 2 died of starvation when I went to work and forgot to restock the fridge ;(

Anyway, finished it with 6 days of adulthood left with a score of 269, so I *know* I'd have a shot at 350 if I had just kept em all alive, and then pointwhored a bit more - oh well... Anyway, thanks for creating it!
